Please let me introduce our family, the owners of the Janika Pension. Our Pension is a family enterprise. Our mission as a company is to provide a familiar atmosphere within our Pension, which makes it possible for our guests to enjoy their holiday, to relax and to have an unforgattable experience at the Lake Balaton.
My name is Zsolt Hegyi and I am the owner of the Pension. I have been working in the world of gastronomy in my whole life. I have gained a lot of experience in this field: I had the opportunity to work in Germany, in Austria and also in Switzerland. I am married, my wife is Elvira and we are proud parents of two kids: Zsolt and Bianka.
The founder of Janika Pension was my father, János Hegyi (1950-2015†). He was a Master chef and Jury of many gastronomy competition, and he was also the president of the comission in many catering graduation.
After gaining a lof of experience in the field of catering, he decided to open his own pension and restaurant with his family in 1991. Sadly he can not be here with us anymore, but we are trying to carry his passion and love for catering on.
His wife Magdolna has also been working in the field of catering in her whole life and followed him on his gastrpnomical journey. Altough her „beautiful” age she is still working actively in our Pension, and our guests can ask for help from her in every situation.
Let’s talk now about their kids: They had 2 of them, Janika the older one, and Zsolt (me) the younger one. Janika has sadly passed away in a motor crash back in 1987. He was just 17 years old. Our Pension was named after him as a sign of our respect.
As a younger boy I graduated in a catering high school, and after I joined our family business. Next to it I also worked in many places to gain experience in the field of catering. Since the death of my father I am the leader of the Pension and try to folllow my father’s footsteps.
